OUR FOUNDER
Herman I. Pryor Jr., Ed.D. is an entrepreneur based in Washington, DC with a passion for clean lines, open spaces, and reimagined possibilities. With over a decade of experience to include a diverse background across the hospitality, behavior health, and human capital industries, Herman’s approach to interior design blends artistic elegance with a minimalist ethos, creating environments that breathe life into every corner while celebrating simplicity and functionality.
His unique introduction into the design industry came from supporting real estate colleagues during their buying/selling process helping investors reimagine the possibilities of their real estate through staging needs. From 2013 to 2017, he founded and operated a boutique interior decorating, design, and staging firm called HIP DiiS (Design innovative interior Solutions). With a knack for curating large and small unique space concepts designs, Herman aims to contribute a universal approach to maximizing the use of essential spaces by aligning intention with creativity.

OUR STORY
What started as an idea for a Bed and Breakfast 20 years ago has morphed into a special community. Founded in 2023 by Herman I. Pryor Jr., Ed.D., the Black House Collection brand is where opulence meets productivity. We are an essential space concept brand set to meet the needs of creatives seeking affordable + accessible workspaces to create or connect freely in a post pandemic society. What we have delivered has helped to disrupt the market by promoting values that prioritizes community over competition for our members, clients, and partners.
Our flagship space The Metropolitan by Black House Collection launched in January 2024 in Northeast Washington, DC and serves as our commuter space offering creatives, entrepreneurs, content creators, and brand professionals more experience for less.
